Hand Rubs

Growing awareness of our susceptibility to common pathogens has made sanitisers a part of our daily lives. It has to be stopped being a luxury item and has become commonplace. However not all sanitisers are equal. Sanitisers come in various types, applications, and are meant for your protection. While an attractive colour or perfume may be of interest, it is important to choose your sanitiser based on the amount and the type of alcohol present in it. Any thing with alcohol content less then 60% volume to volume would not be sufficient to provide adequateprotection, while anything with over 90% alcohol volume to volume would not be effective enough. Other preservatives in the sanitiser also helps provide additional protection. Also alternating between the types of alcohols used is a good way to prevent build up of any resistant pathogens.

Typically our sanitisers are in gel form, as this helps minimise the use quantity per serving, helps slow down the evaporation of the alcohol and helps spread the sanitiser over your hands adequately while you rub it vigorously to ensure adequate coverage.

Sanitisers are safe for use of children, however while they can give effective germ protection, they are not suitable to remove chemical contamination or dirt and grime. Hence it is always recommended to wash one’s hands with soap and water where available.
